Terms
The terms for buying and using DropDone. Last updated: [date you publish this]
Who you’re dealing with
DropDone is made by Classic Link GmbH, Zürich, Switzerland (see our Imprint). These terms govern your licence to use the software.
Your purchase is processed by Paddle.com as our Merchant of Record. That means Paddle is the seller of record for the transaction, and your order is also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Billing, invoices and payment questions are handled through Paddle.
The software
DropDone is desktop software that turns your file manager into the interface for transcoding video. Confirm supported platforms — the site currently offers a Windows download; note macOS/Linux here if/when available.
Licences & pricing
DropDone is offered on two licences:
Perpetual licence. Define precisely: e.g. “a one-time purchase of [price/currency] for the right to use the version you buy on [N] computers, forever, including bug-fix updates to that version.” State whether feature updates beyond that version are included.
Annual licence. Define precisely: e.g. “[price/currency] per year for the right to use DropDone on [N] computers with all updates and support for as long as the subscription is active.” State whether it auto-renews.
What you may and may not do
You may install and use DropDone in line with the licence you bought. You may not redistribute, resell, rent, sublicense or share your licence; reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the software except where the law expressly allows; or remove any copyright or licence notices.
Delivery
After purchase, your licence and download details are delivered by email. If you don’t receive them, contact hello@dropdone.io.
Updates & support
State what each licence includes — e.g. perpetual gets fixes for the purchased version; annual gets all updates and priority support while active. Keep it consistent with the Licences section above.
Refunds
State your refund policy — e.g. “a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.” Refunds are processed through Paddle, so reference their process. Decide the window and any conditions.
Warranty
We build DropDone with care and work to keep it reliable, but the software is provided “as is,” without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Have the exact wording reviewed — Swiss law limits how far warranties can be disclaimed, especially toward consumers.
Liability
A limitation-of-liability clause goes here. This is the clause most worth a lawyer’s eye, because Swiss law makes some limitations unenforceable (e.g. for gross negligence or toward consumers). Don’t rely on generic boilerplate for this one.
Term & termination
For the annual licence: state whether it auto-renews, how to cancel, and what happens when it lapses — does the software keep working in a limited way, stop updating, or stop running? Define this clearly, as it materially affects buyers.
Governing law
These licence terms are governed by Swiss law, with the courts at the registered seat of Classic Link GmbH in Zürich having jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. Note that the payment relationship is separately governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as DropDone evolves. The current version is always the one published here, with its date shown above.
