Privacy Policy

How we handle personal data on the DropDone website and in the DropDone software. Last updated: [date you publish this]

Who is responsible

The data controller is Classic Link GmbH, Werdstrasse 36, 8004 Zürich, Switzerland. You can reach us at hello@dropdone.io. Company details are on our Imprint.

We process personal data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where they apply to customers in the EU/EEA, the GDPR.

What this covers

This policy applies to the DropDone website and to the DropDone desktop software. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.

What we process, and why

When you visit the site. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs used to operate and secure the site. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure website.

Analytics & cookies. Confirm your setup. If you use a cookieless analytics tool (e.g. Cloudflare Web Analytics) or none at all, state that here — “we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics” or “we set no analytics or advertising cookies.” Under the Swiss tiered model, essential cookies only need disclosing, so a site with no tracking needs no consent banner. If you ever add tracking/advertising cookies, this section must change and you’ll need opt-in consent.

When you buy DropDone. Purchases are handled by Paddle as our Merchant of Record — Paddle is the seller for the transaction and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive only limited information from Paddle (such as your email address, order and licence details, and your country for tax purposes) so we can deliver and support your licence. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

The DropDone software. Describe what the app does online. If it runs fully locally — your video files never leave your computer and we receive no usage data — say exactly that (it’s a strong selling point). If it checks for updates, validates a licence key, or sends any diagnostics, list what is sent, to whom, and why.

When you contact us. If you email us, we process your address and message to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in handling your enquiry.

Who we share data with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run DropDone: Cloudflare (website hosting and delivery), Paddle (payments and sales as Merchant of Record), and your email provider — name it, e.g. the service you use to send licence emails and reply to support. Some of these providers may process data outside Switzerland and the EU under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Server logs are kept for a short period. Purchase and invoicing records are kept as long as Swiss bookkeeping law requires (generally ten years) — confirm the exact retention with your Treuhänder.

Your rights

Under the FADP (and the GDPR where it applies) you can ask us to give you access to the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and, where relevant, receive it in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@dropdone.io.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland, or your local data protection authority in the EU/EEA.

Children

DropDone is intended for general and professional use and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DropDone evolves. The current version is always the one published here, with its date shown above.
